Latinos/Latinas at Northeastern University
Northeastern University is committed to fostering the diversity of its student body. In 1997, the Latino/a Student Cultural Center (LSCC) was established. LSCC serves as a hub for academic, cultural, and social programs for Northeastern’s Latino population. Housed within the LSCC is the multidisciplinary academic minor in Latino, Latin American, and Caribbean Studies. Additionally, the LSCC functions as a meeting space for Latino student organizations, such as the Latin American Student Organization, which was founded in 1988 as the Puerto Rican Student Organization to advance the students’ culture and preserve their identity.
