Greater Boston Lesbian and Gay Political Alliance brochure and letter (1988)

“But we need your help to continue the struggle against injustice and discrimination in 1988.”
In July 1987, the Massachusetts Senate initially granted approval of a gay civil rights bill; however, during the third reading in December 1987, the bill was killed. In 1988, the Greater Boston Lesbian and Gay Political Alliance made passage of the gay civil rights bill one of its top priorities, citing increasing discrimination and violence against gays and lesbians. Endorsing progressive candidates was a primary method for the Alliance’s political action. From the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Political Alliance of Massachusetts records.
