Fenway Community Health Center press release (1991)

This press release describes the result of an extensive survey revealing that 86% of gay men and lesbians in Massachusetts had been victims of violence, harassment, or discrimination. The release explains that in 1990, violence against gays and lesbians had increased in Boston by 75% over the previous year. The press conference was held as part of national campaign to count and counter hate crimes and to encourage full implementation of the 1990 federal Hate Crime Statistics Act.
