Rape Action Project’s invitation to public street trial and brochure for “They Say We Ask For It” play (1979)
The Rape Action Project (RAP) was a group of Boston women who organized to encourage the Massachusetts legislature to make changes to rape statutes. Using street theater to spread their messages, RAP engaged audiences with staged performances and actual testimonies of rape. The first letter asks women to participate in a public street trial against Governor Edward King. The second brochure describes and shows pictures of RAP’s play, “They Say We Ask For It.” From the Sondra Gayle Stein papers.
