Boston Society of Vulcans – We Raise Our Voices

The Boston Society of Vulcans was formed in 1969 to aid people of color in obtaining firefighting jobs. Firefighters of color reached out to their fellow men of color, encouraging them to apply for positions in an occupation that many saw as traditionally white and unavailable.
