Black Recruitment Advisory Committee, Northeastern University, report introduction and letter of invitation (ca. 1976)

Although Boston’s universities implemented non-discriminatory hiring practices more readily than its municipal organizations, there were still difficulties. One of the responses from Northeastern University was the creation of a Black Recruitment Advisory Committee, which eventually became an ad hoc committee of the Office of Affirmative Action. The Committee advised the office on the recruitment, retention, and upward mobility of African American faculty and staff at Northeastern. From the Northeastern University Office of the President (Ryder) records.
